In an effort to bolster economic ties, India’s Union Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, recently engaged in discussions with Finland’s Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister, Riikka Purra, as well as Minister of Economic Affairs, Sakari Puisto. The meetings were aimed at enhancing trade and investment relations between the two nations, focusing on strategic collaboration in various sectors.
The conversations highlighted potential partnerships in digitalisation, innovation, and research and development. Both parties expressed interest in fostering connections within the startup ecosystem and advancing business partnerships. Additionally, they delved into prospects for cooperation in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, 6G, quantum technologies, semiconductors, space exploration, and sustainability initiatives.
A significant topic of discussion was the proposed Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between India and the European Union.
